Northern Nicaragua was once a hidden secret, and while it is still a whole lot less crowded than the southern Popoyo zone, the area is growing. The surf is still relatively uncrowded but there are a few more friends around and best of all, some new eateries.
Newest on the list is the Spanish themed beach bar Tapas and Surf located right on the sand in the bay below Tierra del Suenos. Owners and visitors can walk down the street for a surf then enjoy breakfast, lunch, cocktail hour, or dinner at this super cute new bar.
Tapas and Surf also features 8 canvas tents on elevated platforms if you’d like to experience “glamping” Nica style.
Steve Thomas recently stopped by for a few beers after surfing along with his buddy Jodi (who had just experienced his very first session surfing the Pacific Ocean). They gave the place their approval!
